TypeMondo is a typing game, made by the TypeMondo team. This policy says what the app and this website do with information. The short version: the app does not collect any data, and nothing you or your child does in the app leaves your computer.
The app has no account, no sign-in, no advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting and no tracking. It never sends your child's name, progress, typing history or anything else to us or to any third party.
To remember where each child is in the game, the app saves the following on your computer only:
We cannot see this information and cannot delete it for you, because it never reaches us. How to delete it: in the parent area, remove a profile or reset its progress. To remove everything, delete the app and then delete its data folder, which stays on your Mac after the app is removed: ~/Library/Containers/com.typemondo.mac. You can delete that folder by hand after deleting the app.
A parent can save a certificate or report as a picture (saved in the Pictures folder, in a folder named TypeMondo) or export the play history as a file (saved where you choose). These files are created on your computer at your request. The app does not send them anywhere.
The app does not use the microphone, the camera, your location, or your contacts. It writes to your Pictures folder only for the pictures described above.
The first levels are free. The full version is a one-time in-app purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your Apple Account or payment details, and the app does not tell us who bought it; Apple gives us only sales reports. Apple's own privacy policy applies to the purchase. In the app, the price and the purchase button are shown only in the parent area, not to children.
If you write to us (hello@typemondo.com), we receive your email address and what you write, and we use it only to answer you. We keep correspondence for one year and then delete it. You can ask us to delete it sooner, or ask what we hold about you, by writing to the same address. We do not share it with anyone. If you are in the EU or UK you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
The online trial at typemondo.com/play is a short, free part of the game that runs in your browser. Its code comes from this website only: it loads no scripts, fonts, images or other files from other sites, and it sends nothing to us or to anyone else.
What it saves: the name and picture a child picks, progress, settings and the play history are saved in your browser's local storage, on your device only, in the browser profile you are using. It is not uploaded. We do not use cookies in the online trial, and it has no account and no analytics, and it is not connected to the progress of the Mac app.
Because the data belongs to the browser profile, everyone who uses the same profile on the same computer sees the same saved players, and a private window starts empty and usually forgets everything when it is closed.
How to delete it: on the start page of the online trial, choose "New player: erase this browser's progress", which, after you confirm, erases everything the game saved in this browser. Inside the game, "Reset progress" in the settings clears the progress of the player who is currently selected. You can also clear this site's data in your browser's settings.
If your browser does not keep data (a private window, for example), the game says so, and you can still play, but the progress is lost when the window closes. Open tabs of the game in the same browser talk to each other on your device only, to keep their saved data in step; nothing leaves the browser.
Safari may delete a website's saved data after seven days of Safari use without a visit to that site, so a player's progress in the online trial can disappear that way.
The pages of typemondo.com, including this one, load no scripts, fonts or images from other sites. The only scripts on the site are our own: the game on /play/ (see "The online trial"). The company that hosts the site, Cloudflare, may log visitors' IP addresses for security and operation, under its own privacy policy, like any web host. We do not run analytics: we do not count visitors or plays. We do not set cookies on the site.
The app and the online trial collect no personal information from children or anyone else, so there is nothing for a parent to consent to. If a child's parent writes to us, the "Email you send us" section applies.
The app contains no advertising, analytics or tracking software. The fonts and music in the app are licensed for this use; credits are in the app's About page.
If a future version of the app or the online trial adds an online feature, we will update this policy, with a new date, before that version is released.
